Perfect cooperation between firefighters at a fire in a commercial enterprise in the St. Pölten region late Thursday afternoon: due to the shortage of water on site, three fire departments from the surrounding area provided supplies. The fire was quickly brought under control thanks to the rapid intervention.

It was the third fire that the St. Pölten - St. Georgen fire department had been called out to this week. This time, flames spread due to a fault in a machine located in the St. Georgen asphalt plant.

Due to the prevailing water shortage on site, the St. Pölten City Fire Department, the St. Pölten-Spratzern Volunteer Fire Department and the Wilhelmsburg City Fire Department were also alerted in order to ensure the necessary extinguishing water supply.

300 meters to the water connection
As the fire department told the "Krone", almost 300 meters of water hose had to be laid to get enough water to the site of the fire. The 12,000 liter tank of a vehicle from the St. Pölten city fire department was a great help here: the fire was under control relatively quickly and the operation was over after 45 minutes, according to a Floriani.

Nevertheless, the operation was demanding: a total of three breathing apparatus teams and 8 vehicles with 38 firefighters were on site.
