Seven-year-old resuscitated after swimming accident

A seven-year-old was resuscitated on Wednesday after a swimming accident at the Großpetersdorf outdoor pool in Burgenland. A bather discovered the boy floating motionless in the water.

The attentive bather immediately pulled the boy out of the pool and alerted the emergency services. The immediate resuscitation measures were successful. The child was flown to hospital in Graz by emergency helicopter.

Cause of the accident still unclear
According to the provincial police department, the boy was at the outdoor pool with his mother and siblings. The exact cause of the accident was still under investigation.
