After Mats Hummels' departure from Borussia Dortmund was officially announced, the central defender was primarily linked with AS Roma. German media, however, now want to know: The 2014 world champion is in talks with RCD Mallorca.

Sky and Bild, for example, are reporting that an offer has been made, but Hummels has not yet made a decision, according to reports. What speaks in favor of a transfer: The long-time Dortmund defender already owns a house on the Balearic Islands, where he is currently recovering from the past season. He is also said to speak fluent Spanish.

In sporting terms, however, the move would be a step backwards; Mallorca finished the past season in 15th place in La Liga.

Alternatively, Sevilla are also said to be interested in Hummels, with the 35-year-old set to follow in the footsteps of Sergio Ramos, who announced his departure from the club on Monday.
