Emergency services repaired straighteners at Nova Rock

The Nova Rock festival in Nickelsdorf came to an end on Sunday. One day later, the emergency services were satisfied with the outcome and reported on some unusual operations. For example, ÖAMTC roadside assistants repaired a hair straightener and an emergency generator.

They helped a visitor who is dependent on artificial nutrition. However, the ÖAMTC was particularly in demand for lost car keys. The helpers were also called out to repair flat batteries and tires. A total of 300 punctures were counted.

On Sunday, they pulled stuck vehicles out of the mud - it had rained during the night. The departure went off without any major incidents.

Most of the festival visitors had already left by Monday morning. There was slightly sluggish traffic at the exits, but there were no major traffic jams. The road conditions are now good again after the slush, said spokeswoman Romana Schuster.

65 injured people treated in hospitals
The Red Cross looked after a total of 2100 visitors - around 200,000 people were at the festival. The team mainly dealt with everyday injuries such as abrasions and cuts, blunt injuries after accidents and bee stings. 65 injured people were taken to hospital for further assessment.

Crisis intervention teams were also at the festival site around the clock. They looked after 20 people. The police spoke of a rather calm festival, there were no major incidents. There were reports of theft (58) and under the Narcotics Act (28). Drunk and drugged drivers were also caught (65). The highest alcohol level was 1.86 per mille.

The organizations worked well together, said Manuel Komosny from the Burgenland Red Cross.
