Two-time Oscar winner Michael Douglas will be 80 years old in September. In an interview, Douglas was relaxed about it.

Hollywood star Michael Douglas is trying to take his age in his stride. "I think the inner child will always remain. It's just that the outer shell changes dramatically," the 79-year-old told Bild newspaper.

The Oscar winner turns 80 on September 25. "I don't try to hide my age and talk about it openly with friends and family," he said.

In old age "you don't have to prove anything anymore"
When asked whether getting older also has positive aspects, Douglas told Bild: "I wouldn't necessarily say advantages, but you don't have to prove anything anymore."

Douglas has won an Oscar twice and is married to Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones (54). The couple have two children together. Douglas was most recently seen in the mini-series "Franklin" on the streaming service AppleTV+ as Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the United States.

Earlier this month, he traveled to Israel on a solidarity visit. The actor visited sites of the Hamas massacre on October 7 and met relatives of hostages being held in the Gaza Strip, as reported by the "Jerusalem Post".
