Schumacher’s “scandalous Ferrari” for Berger

The "Legends Parade" has a long tradition at the Grand Prix weekend in Spielberg. Once again this year, fans will be able to enjoy historic Formula 1 cars and their sound on Saturday and Sunday (29/30 June).

A dubious honor will be bestowed on Gerhard Berger. The ten-time Grand Prix winner will be doing his laps in the Ferrari in which Michael Schumacher celebrated a controversial victory in Spielberg on May 12, 2002.

Whistles for Schumacher
Back then, Schumi's team-mate Rubens Barrichello was whistled back by team boss Jean Todt on the last lap and had to concede victory to the German in the final meters before the finish. The Austrian fans then showered Schumacher with roaring whistles. It didn't help that he left the top step of the podium to Barrichello at the podium ceremony.

In addition to Berger in the "scandalous Ferrari", David Coulthard (in the Red Bull from 2001), Jos Verstappen (in the Red Bull from 2012), Johnny Herbert (in the winning Lotus from 1982) and Emerson Fittipaldi (in the winning Lotus from 1972) will also be driving in the parade. Other cars will be on display in the fan zone.
