German hiking sextet stuck at 1800 meters

The six Germans had climbed from Baad (Kleinwalsertal) via the middle and upper Spitalalpe towards the upper Derrenalpe on Monday. On a hiking trail between the upper Spitalalpe and the upper Derrenalpe, the hikers got stuck after crossing some old snow fields.

As the group, consisting of six people aged between 24 and 61, did not trust themselves to descend from around 1800 meters above sea level, the sextet finally informed the rescue services. Due to the fog and rain, it was not possible to use a helicopter.

Group escorted into the valley
The mountain rescuers from Mittelberg set off on foot and ensured that the six Germans arrived back in the valley unharmed. In addition to the Mittelberg mountain rescue team, the Kleinwalsertal Alpine Police were also deployed.
