Grünau receives a delayed ÖFB Cup ticket

This comes as quite a surprise! Western league team Grünau can look forward to an ÖFB Cup ticket. The Walsers had actually given it away on the last matchday. Now they will be the fourth Salzburg amateur team to take part in the Cup. 

Wals-Grünau will play in the ÖFB Cup in the 2024/25 season. Only Austria Salzburg, FC Pinzgau and Bischofshofen had actually punched their ticket. Why can coach Christoph Knaus' squad suddenly move up?

FC Liefering and the two-man teams from Rapid and Sturm have voluntarily decided not to take part in the Cup. The Salzburg regional association was therefore awarded another ticket. This has now been awarded to Grünau. In addition to the Westliga quartet, Red Bull Salzburg will of course also be taking part in the competition. This means that a total of five teams from the home province will be taking part.
