Woman attacked her boyfriend with a kitchen knife

Exhausted, a 44-year-old man from Villach went straight to bed when he came home late on Tuesday evening. But then a wild argument broke out with his 40-year-old partner.

The partner, who was obviously drunk, wanted to wake the man up shortly before 10.30 pm. "This led to an argument that quickly escalated," the police report. "Suddenly, the woman attacked the man with a kitchen knife about 15 centimetres long. He suffered a stab wound to his upper body." After first aid, the 44-year-old was taken to Villach Regional Hospital.

The police arrested the 40-year-old woman and issued a no trespassing and no approach order. ". The woman was found to be heavily intoxicated, which is why she was not questioned until today," the police added. She was reported at large on Wednesday and subsequently released from police custody.
