Excavator pushed worker into wall in excavation pit

Terrible accident at work on Tuesday morning in Neu-Ferfens (district of Schwaz)! A worker (30) was pushed against the wall by an excavator in an excavation pit and was seriously injured. He ended up in hospital.

Shortly after 8 a.m., the 30-year-old Hungarian and a work colleague were about 1.5 meters deep in a pit on a construction site in Neu-Ferfens. Excavation and laying work was to be carried out there.

The excavator driver - a 30-year-old local man - made a turning movement during the excavation and pressed the Hungarian man against the wall of the excavation pit with the excavator arm. The man suffered serious injuries to his hip. After first aid, he was taken to Schwaz district hospital.
