Fatal deer crossing: biker crashes into a deer

A painful collision early on Tuesday morning on the Drautalbundesstraße in the district of Spittal an der Drau: a motorcyclist was unable to swerve in time and hit a deer with full force.

At around 4.30 a.m., the biker from Spittal an der Drau was traveling on the Drautalbundesstraße in the direction of Möllbrücke when a deer suddenly jumped onto the road from the right near Lendorf. The 55-year-old motorcyclist had no chance to react in time - he was unable to swerve or stop and collided with the deer.

Due to the force of the impact, the biker lost control, veered off the road to the right and crashed. The motorcyclist was first treated at the scene of the accident by the emergency services and then taken to hospital with injuries of indeterminate severity.
