Over 20 cellars are under water in Bürmoos

The emergency services in northern Flachgau have had their hands full since today, Monday afternoon. Numerous cellars were and still are flooded due to the heavy rainfall. By 9pm, the firefighters had already received 98 alarms in the municipality of Bürmoos alone. 

The municipalities of Dorfbeuern and Bürmoos were particularly affected. Houses along the Kaiserbach in Bürmoos in particular were increasingly flooded. In some cases, the stream overflowed its banks and in others it pushed up the groundwater. 

 "So far there have been 98 alarms", said Bürmoos local fire brigade commander Stefan Plattner in the evening. From a few centimetres that ran into the cellars to more than a meter, everything was there. "At the moment, it looks like we've survived the worst."

The volunteer fire department from Bürmoos was temporarily deployed with 65 men. Their colleagues from the surrounding area also had their hands full. Emergency services from Lamprechtshausen and St. Georgen were called in to help pump out the cellars. The fire departments in their home communities were also deployed.

Isolated rain showers are expected until well into the night.
