55 positions audited last year

Director Werner Sedlak and his team ensure that budget funds are used sparingly and appropriately 

Director Werner Sedlak presented the City Court of Audit's annual activity report to Vienna City Council on Wednesday. In 2023, 55 offices were audited and more than 3,500 pages of audit reports were written. In these, 678 recommendations were made.

40 percent female auditors
Encouragingly, 97.9 percent of these recommendations are or were implemented by the audited bodies. A total of 60 auditors work at the City Court of Audit, 40 percent of whom are female technical auditors.

Numerous audit requests from political parties were also processed, accounting for 17% of all initial reports.

Economical and expedient
In his speech to the municipal council, Sedlak emphasized the importance of the presentation in this context: "This is how we bring colleagues before the curtain who always keep an eye on ensuring that budget funds are used sparingly and appropriately."

The reform of the City Court of Audit, which came into force on January 1 and established the institution as a separate body, thus further strengthening its independence, is also seen as a milestone.
