Drunk man pointed a gun at several people

On Monday afternoon, the Vienna police in Simmering were alerted after a suspect (54) pointed a firearm out of his window towards a group of people.

At around 3pm, the suspect began shouting abuse at the group from his window. Shortly afterwards, he took out his gun and pointed it at them several times. A witness immediately alerted the police.

A short time later, the alerted officers managed to make a provisional arrest of the 54-year-old in his apartment. The weapon was a blank firearm. It was seized. A provisional weapons ban was also issued. The alcohol test showed around 2.3 per mille.

When questioned, the man stated that he had no recollection of the incident. He was reported at large.
