Demi Moore: “I’m not a victim of beauty obsession”

Actress Demi Moore says she doesn't see herself as a victim of a Hollywood world obsessed with youthful looks. "My view is that regardless of what's going on outside of you, the real issue is how you relate to it yourself." She does not consider herself a victim, the 61-year-old said in Cannes on Monday. The US-American is celebrating a cinema comeback at the film festival after several small roles.

In the feminist body horror film "The Substance" by Coralie Fargeat, she plays a woman who tries to become a younger version of herself with the help of a substance. Moore herself has often been reduced to her looks in public.

New movie with lots of nude scenes
There are many nude scenes in this impressive movie. Margaret Qualley plays a younger version of the protagonist. She opened up a lot during filming and made herself vulnerable as a result.

"We had to be very sensitive and talk a lot about what we wanted to achieve and tackle, and find a common basis of mutual trust," said Moore.

In Qualley, she had a "great partner" with whom she felt "very safe". "And we obviously worked very closely together at certain moments, nakedly. There was also a lot of fun in some moments because they were so absurd," Moore said.
