Climber falls to his death on a tour in Tyrol

Terrible alpine accident on Saturday in Tyrol! A climber fell to his death in the area of the Scharnitzspitze in Leutasch. The man could only be rescued dead.

The accident happened around midday. The climber, who was climbing alone, was above the Wangalm when he apparently lost his footing. A mountain rescuer who happened to be on site heard a scream and was finally able to observe the fall.

Identity of the man still unclear
The witness immediately raised the alarm. However, the emergency services were only able to determine the man's death. He was flown to hospital by airplane. The identity of the man is still unclear.
