Passers-by attacked with a knife: Injured

A man armed with a knife stabbed passers-by indiscriminately in the Swiss canton of Aargau on the border with Germany and injured several people. The perpetrator barricaded himself in a house a short time later, but has since been arrested.

A pregnant woman is said to be among the injured, as reported by the news website "20 Minuten". According to a spokesperson for the cantonal police, there is "no danger" for the population of Zofingen, where the bloodbath took place.

The police called on residents to close windows and doors and avoid the affected area. It is unclear whether there may still be accomplices.
