Truck with electric cars caught fire on the B3

Major alarm on the B3 in the municipality of Hofamt Priel in Lower Austria late on Tuesday afternoon after a truck fire was reported. The heavy goods vehicle had also been carrying electric cars. The fire department was quickly on the scene and was able to prevent the fire from spreading from four vehicles. 

An emergency call was received between Weins and Yspersdorf in the district of Melk, where the fire department was in particularly high demand: according to initial reports, a truck that was also carrying electric cars had caught fire.

Four cars were affected
Initial images show that several cars at the rear of the heavy goods vehicle were affected. According to the Melk district fire station, three fire brigades were deployed. 

Thanks to the rapid intervention, the number of vehicles affected was eventually reduced to four and the fire was prevented from spreading any further. However, as flames kept flaring up, the emergency services remained in action until the evening hours.
