Woman stabbed to death in broad daylight in London
A woman was stabbed to death in the middle of the day on a street in London. A 22-year-old man was then arrested on suspicion of murder, apparently an attempted handbag robbery escalated, according to an eyewitness.
The Times newspaper quoted an eyewitness on Friday as saying that the man had tried to rob the handbag of the woman, who is said to have been between 60 and 70 years old, on Thursday. The perpetrator tugged at the bag but held the woman down.
The eyewitness described how the man then stabbed her three times. Rescue workers treated the victim. However, the woman still succumbed to her injuries.
Suspected perpetrator caught
Soon afterwards, the suspected perpetrator (22) was arrested about one kilometer from the scene of the crime in the northwest of the British capital, according to the Metropolitan Police. The authorities did not initially provide any information on a possible motive.
