Austria's women take on serial winners St. Pölten in the Cup final in Wr. Neustadt on Thursday. The "Wolves" have a strong statistical record, so the pressure is clearly on coach Liese Brancao's team for the Violets' captain Verena Volkmer.  

The game is very important for us. I've never been in a major final before, and many of us in the team have. It will be an absolute highlight, we can't wait," says Verena Volkmer with palpable anticipation.

Austria's captain will face defending champions St. Pölten in the Cup final on Thursday (2pm, live on ORF 1) in Wr. Neustadt, where 1600 tickets have already been sold. The "Wolves", who have been successful nine times recently, have been unbeaten in the Cup for 4444 days!

"The pressure is on our opponents, the role of underdog suits us quite well. We can play freely. Nobody expects us to win the title," says Volkmer. Coach Stefan Kenesei says ahead of the clash. "It will be a big advantage if we can keep a clean sheet at the back, as we did in the last clash. Nevertheless, we'll need to make our mark in possession and go into the game with a clear plan."
