Angered residents:
“Our city is becoming a hotspot for Israel conflict”
The mood in Malmö is tense ahead of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Tuesday evening: the Jewish community is living under increased security precautions due to a rise in anti-Semitic incidents. Protests and even terror warnings are on the rise. The police have increased their presence and all security measures on site, and experts are warning of possible clashes during the event.
Meanwhile, Israel's delegation is subject to particularly strict security measures: Singer Eden Golan is said to have been asked by the Shin Bet secret service to leave her hotel room as little as possible. Nevertheless, organizers point to an "extremely stable" security situation and are hoping for a large number of visitors.
How is the population dealing with this tense situation? A krone.tv reporter team asked the inhabitants of Malmö.
