The body of a 19-year-old woman was discovered on Saturday in an underground parking garage in Regensburg, Bavaria. The police believe it was a violent crime. A suspect has now been arrested.

According to the police, it is a 55-year-old man who had already been arrested on Saturday evening. The public prosecutor's office is currently considering bringing the suspect before a magistrate.

Following information from witnesses, police officers in Regensburg made a gruesome discovery on Saturday: They discovered a body in the trunk of a car parked in the underground garage of a DIY store. It was a 19-year-old woman from the district of Cham in eastern Bavaria.

Investigation into homicide
The car, which had a side window smashed, was the car of the young woman's parents. They were already questioned as witnesses on Saturday. The 19-year-old had not been reported missing. According to the police, forensics have been completed and a homicide investigation is underway.
