Homicide possible
Body (19) discovered in underground parking garage in Bavaria
The body of a 19-year-old woman was discovered in an underground parking garage in Regensburg (Bavaria) on Saturday (see video above). The police are currently assuming a violent crime. A suicide has been ruled out, they say.
However, police spokesman Matthias Gröger said that it was not yet possible to say how the young woman from the Bavarian district of Cham died. Investigations are being carried out in all directions. According to the police, passers-by had reported on Saturday morning that a car with a smashed window was parked in the underground car park of a DIY store in Regensburg.
A police patrol then discovered the dead woman in the trunk. "It was a routine check," said a police spokesperson. The body was found by chance after the tip-off.
No missing persons report
The car was registered to the 19-year-old's parents. It is unclear how long it had been in the underground car park. The young woman had not been reported missing.
The criminal investigation department searched the garage for evidence until Saturday evening, which is why the parking garage remained closed for the time being. A mortician later collected the body and an autopsy was ordered. In addition, the young woman's parents, who are receiving psychological support, and witnesses have already been questioned. More information will be available on Sunday.
