Rode over meadow
Holidaymaker (25) broke his leg while riding a toboggan
The mountain rescue team in Kramsach, Tyrol, had to be called out on a strange mission on Saturday night. A Pole (25) was riding a wooden toboggan across a steep meadow in Alpbach. He landed with the wintry equipment in a forest and broke his thigh.
A group of Polish vacationers were partying in a vacation home in Alpbachtal on Saturday night. Shortly before 6 a.m., three men set off to ride down the steep meadow on a wooden toboggan.
This unusual adventure at the beginning of May was ultimately only attempted by a 25-year-old, who descended some 200 meters into the valley over a steep and wet meadow. He reached a high speed and was unable to stop in front of a forest.
Crashed into a tree
He jumped over an embankment with the toboggan and crashed into a tree. He sustained serious injuries to his left thigh. He was first treated by the Alpbach mountain rescue team and rescued from the steep terrain. The emergency helicopter then took him to the district hospital in Kufstein.
