Chasing records at the big anniversary party

Free admission and a jam-packed anniversary program. On Saturday (from 1 pm), the Vienna Trotting Club celebrates its 150th birthday in Krieau.

At the highlight of the day, the "Prize of the City of Vienna", the international series winners Global Braveheart and Cardenas Baba will be among those competing for prize money totaling 15,000 euros.

The Krieau track record (1:12.0 min.), which has stood since 2016, should shake. If it falls, there will be a 1000 euro bonus.

Several well-filled jackpots await all betting fans. And the premiere of a type of betting that is particularly popular at racecourses in England.

Pony competitions, champagne bar, barbecue station and the big anniversary party guarantee entertainment for the whole family.

The Krieau hopes that the anniversary year will herald glorious times again. Like those in the 1970s, for example. In 1971, Adi Übleis, a trotter, even became Austria's Sportsman of the Year.

To mark the anniversary, the new "Traber Card" is available for 60 euros. The card offers a 10 percent discount at 60 companies. Special sales day tomorrow Friday (from 1 pm) at Gasthaus Schwabl (1120 Vienna, Schönbrunner Straße 250).
