Pongauer fell for snow blower scam

A 38-year-old Albanian is accused of defrauding a 57-year-old man from Pongau of around 4,000 euros. The Austrian was lured into the trap by a supposed online bargain.

The victim discovered a snow blower on an online site in December 2023 and transferred the money to a Belgian account.

The account holder was identified to him as a supposed trustee via a fake website.

As the goods had not arrived by mid-March, the man from Pongau filed a complaint. The accused is also being prosecuted in Germany for similar offenses; his current whereabouts are unknown.
