Import players stay with ice hockey champ Salzburg

The Eisbullen have extended the contracts of four key players. Since the beginning of their time in Salzburg, the legionnaires have only been used to winning championship titles. Veteran Genoway shone on offense last season.

The import players Chay Genoway, Tyler Lewington, Dennis Robertson and Ryan Murphy will also be on the ice for Ice Hockey League champions Salzburg next season. As the three-time champions announced on Monday, the quartet have extended their contracts. While Genoway, Lewington and Robertson are already entering their third season, it is only Murphy's second. All four are winners and know nothing but the championship title in Salzburg.

The veterans are also among the top performers. Above all Genoway. The 37-year-old Canadian scored eleven goals, the most of any Salzburg defender last season, and was the fourth-highest scorer among the league's defensemen. The 31-year-old Murphy has the most NHL appearances for Salzburg with 176 games and was fifth on the Salzburg scoring list in 2023-24.
