Goalless draw between Gladbach and Union

Borussia Mönchengladbach and Union Berlin have shared the points in the relegation battle in the German Bundesliga. Sunday's match at Borussia-Park ended goalless, which only helps both teams to a limited extent.

Gladbach are now in 13th place with 32 points, while Union (30) are two points behind them in 14th place. The Berliners only have a three-point cushion on the 16th relegation spot. This is held by Mainz 05, who will host Cologne in the basement duel this evening.

Gladbach were without ÖFB team player Maximilian Wöber, who suffered a slight muscle fiber tear in his thigh in the 4-3 defeat at Hoffenheim last week. His compatriot Stefan Lainer was in the starting eleven against Union and played 66 minutes, while Christopher Trimmel was substituted for the Berliners in the closing stages.
