Inter win and celebrate championship party
Newly crowned Italian champions Inter Milan treated their home fans to a 2-0 win over Torino on Sunday. Hakan Calhanoglu decided the game with a brace.
Afterwards, the team of Marko Arnautovic, who was substituted in the 72nd minute, celebrated the "Scudetto" won on Monday with a victory in the Milan derby together with the players' families and fans. Austrian international Valentino Lazaro played 63 minutes for the Turin side.
Dismissal as can opener
After the exuberant party during the week, Inter got off to a slow start. The can opener for the "Nerazzurri" was a sending-off for the visitors at the start of the second half, when Adrien Tameze was sent to the dressing room with a red card by referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi for an emergency brake against Henrikh Mkhitaryan (49'). Incidentally, Caputi was in charge of a refereeing team made up entirely of women, a first in Serie A.
The first Inter goal was set up by Lazaro, who lost the ball in front of his own penalty area, and Calhanoglu scored with a superb finish (56'). Only a short time later, Marcus Thuram was awarded a penalty, which the Turk converted to score his second goal. After the final whistle, the Inter players unveiled a banner on the pitch with two gold stars for the now 20 championship titles.
