Complete success at the Festival of Friendship in Südpark

Many Slovenian exhibitors and a colorful musical program ensured a full house in Klagenfurt's Südpark. Children's pictures about peace and friendship were auctioned off for a good cause.

"Especially in times like these, we want to show how important friendship is," says Heinz Achatz, manager of Klagenfurt's Südpark shopping center. That's why the owner invited a total of 37 exhibitors from the Slovenian Karst to the shopping center. "This is the best event in a long time," enthuses a visitor in conversation with the "Krone" while listening to the sounds of the MPZ Sežana choir. While some visitors sampled the delicious wines of the region, others listened to the sounds of the Sežana brass band in front of the South Park.

But it wasn't just on Saturday that the borderless friendship between Carinthia and Slovenia took center stage. Works of art by primary school children were already presented on Friday. "The pictures are intended to show what peace means to the little ones," explains Achatz, who auctioned off the pictures for a good cause. "A total of 1250 euros was raised." The money will go to the "Krone" readers help initiative.

The new Karst Journal, which aims to showcase the many beauties of the Slovenian region, was also presented at the event.
