Young mother fears for seriously ill husband
His father is seriously ill and has metastases all over his body. His wife, the mother of two young children, is also suffering from financial worries and a desperate search for a place to stay.
At first glance, it is pure idyll: a delightful little boy, less than two years old, who beams at visitors from ear to ear, leading them by the hand through the colorful garden, happily digging pits in the sandpit. Every now and then he looks after his little brother, who is slumbering in the pram. It is only six months old. All this in the sunshine, while the birds are chirping, with two dogs who want to be stroked all the time. A mother hugging, kissing and laughing at her children.
As I said: at first glance. A second look, this time behind the scenes, shows that the Styrian only laughs for her little ones - although she would cry all the time, "the boys have a right to grow up happy," she says. She has to be strong and cheerful for the little ones.
But in the house, her husband is lying in a darkened room. Someone who used to always be in such a good mood. Loved the sun, the sea and the light. Loved to cook. Went above and beyond for his family. Now he even finds it hard to see his little ones. It breaks his heart.
The darkness came out of nowhere last year. He, who was supposedly so healthy, suddenly had a seizure at home. This shock was compounded by the diagnosis in hospital. It threw everyone off course.
Cancer. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and tablets followed. Morphine patches to cope with the pain. The prognosis? We don't want to ask. The fact that two empathetic people from the hospice association are looking after the family speaks volumes without words.
The mother, who was pregnant for the second time at the time of the diagnosis, despairs not only because of this, but also because of the circumstances. The old rented house is slowly falling apart, the wood is not only literally rotten. The roof is so lousy that it is raining in in places. The wood heating is full of bad luck and hardly lets any heat through to the small children and the seriously ill. The house is not being renovated, the owner doesn't want to put anything more into it. Small tasks such as mowing the overflowing lawn become a challenge for the mother, who has to manage the whole of everyday life, two small children and a seriously ill husband.
A place where the ill-fated family is welcome
It won't be possible to stay here much longer. But finding a place to stay is so difficult. It should be a small, inexpensive house to rent, the two dogs must be allowed, they are an inseparable part of the family and are dearly loved by the children. The location? Rather secondary. "It should simply be a good one, with lovely people, where we feel safe, welcome and accepted, where the children can grow up in a peaceful environment." We wish it for father, mother and children. We are happy to pass on offers.
And: We have also set up a donation account for them. This new start with hardly any financial resources due to the serious illness and maternity leave will be tough. But hopefully not impossible thanks to the "Krone" family.
