Test drive without a helmet: mechanic injured in a fall
A devastating accident at work on Thursday in East Tyrol: After a Croatian mechanic (35) had carried out service work on a motorcycle, he took the vehicle for a test ride without a helmet. The man fell and suffered serious injuries.
The serious accident happened at around 7.30 p.m. in Matrei in East Tyrol. The 35-year-old Croatian had been taking his own motorcycle for a test ride on the premises of a company after carrying out various service work on it.
According to investigations so far, he fell through no fault of his own and hit his head on the asphalt.

"The man was not wearing a crash helmet. According to investigations so far, he fell through no fault of his own and hit his head on the asphalt," reported the police. The Croatian suffered a heavily bleeding wound to his head, an injury to his collarbone and a severe concussion.
After receiving initial emergency medical treatment at the scene, the 35-year-old was taken to Lienz district hospital by ambulance.
