Cancelo? “Now knows why Pep didn’t like him”

During his time at Manchester City, Joao Cancelo's relationship with coach Pep Guardiola was not exactly amicable. Ronald de Boer, former FC Barcelona right winger, now wants to know why.

"Now I know why Pep Guardiola didn't like Cancelo," the Dutchman told Ziggo Sport. "The guy plays his own game. He only thinks about what he can do with the ball, but damn it, you're a defender."

Blunder in the "Clasico"
The Portuguese did not cut a particularly good figure in Barcelona's 3-2 defeat in the Clasico against Real Madrid, and was particularly at fault for the 2-2, when Lucas Vazquez was able to finish unchallenged after a cross from Vinicius Junior. "It's crazy that Cancelo keeps making mistakes like that at the age of 29," said De Boer. 

After Cancelo was said to have a bad relationship with Guardiola at the Sky Blues, the full-back first went on loan to FC Bayern and later to FC Barcelona. However, he does not seem to have completely escaped the criticism of one or two experts ...
