Rear axle of truck caught fire

A truck driver had a stroke of luck on Wednesday in Vorarlberg: the rear axle of his vehicle caught fire. An attentive car driver stopped the truck. 

A 34-year-old truck driver was driving his truck between Satteins and Göfis on the L50 at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning; the truck was loaded with soil. A car driver driving behind the truck noticed a burning smell and also noticed sparks flying from the truck.

At Schwarzer See, the man overtook the truck and brought the driver to a halt. Together they extinguished the slight fire on the rear axle of the truck. The fire department, which had been alerted in the meantime, cooled the overheated axle. Fortunately, no one was injured.
