Car crashes into bus: driver (62) injured

A serious traffic accident on Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean Außerfern region: a 62-year-old local woman crashed her car into a bus and suffered serious injuries. She had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

The accident happened shortly after 7 pm in the municipality of Heiterwang. A 56-year-old German was driving a bus coming from Reutte in the direction of Bichlbach when, according to him, a car suddenly entered the junction from the right.

The 56-year-old was no longer able to bring the bus to a halt and the two vehicles collided.

"The bus driver was unable to brake in time and the two vehicles collided," reported the police. The driver, a 62-year-old local woman, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Driver taken to hospital by ambulance
After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the woman was taken to Reutte District Hospital by ambulance. Both vehicles sustained massive material damage.
