Salzburg coach Cinel: “I have no explanation!”
Red Bull Salzburg conceded a bitter 3-4 defeat at Austria Klagenfurt on Wednesday after leading 2-0 at the break. Here's what the coaches had to say about the game.
Onur Cinel (Salzburg coach): "After taking a 2-0 lead, we incomprehensibly didn't get the intensity and energy on the pitch that we normally have. Klagenfurt then capitalized on our mistakes. I have no explanation for this relapse, because we played really good soccer against the same team just a few days ago. Everyone in the dressing room was extremely disappointed. The fact that Pavlovic will be missing against Sturm on Sunday is annoying. The defeat in Klagenfurt doesn't change the fact that there will be a real showdown on Sunday."
Peter Pacult (Klagenfurt coach): "Hats off to my team, who showed tremendous character and put away a 2-0 defeat against the reigning champions. Even after going behind, we never had the feeling that Salzburg had mastered us. The quick goal after the break was important, then the team got into a flow. The win was not undeserved because we found good solutions in possession and were only too hesitant in finishing before the break."
