Together with Stiegl, the "Tiroler Krone" is looking for the most beautiful maypole in the country. The main prize for the winning tree is something to be proud of: 1000 liters of Stiegl Goldbräu!

How time flies! While the snow is still falling from the mountains, it's already May again. In this month, a wonderful custom takes place throughout the country every year: the raising of the maypole.

May makes everything new! And for many generations we have represented this new beginning in the maypole.(Bild: zVg)

The custom of erecting a tree as a sign of life, a symbol of fertility and joie de vivre, dates back to the Middle Ages in Austria. Nowadays, the erection of the maypole is celebrated as a real festival and adorns the main squares of many places in the country.

The "Tiroler Krone" and Stiegl are looking for the "most beautiful maypole in the country" for the first time this year. All Tyrolean traditional groups can take part. Each (!) entry will receive a 25-liter barrel of Stiegl. And the winner, chosen by a jury, will receive 1000 (!) liters of Stiegl Goldbräu. Good luck!
