After the defeat in Tyrol
Austria coach Wimmer grumbles: “That’s not on!”
Vienna's Austria conceded a 1-0 defeat at the Tyroleans on Tuesday due to an unfortunate penalty in the final and lost ground at the top of the qualifying group. Here is what the coaches had to say about the game.
Michael Wimmer (Austria coach): "It wasn't the penalty! Greed and passion were not as present as they were on Saturday. We were a bit lacking in terms of willingness, tackling, presence on second balls. I have to take responsibility as a coach. We were often too late, too sloppy, I admit that to everyone. But taking one or two steps less is not an option. I want to see the greed that we want to win every game."
Thomas Silberberger (WSG coach): "We defended passionately today and it was this passion that got us into transitional actions. We had the better chances. It was a victory of passion. There are still twelve points to play for, but we have the direct duel (with Lustenau) here at home. The team has tasted blood, there's no point in playing for a draw."
