From relegated champions to Cup winners

It's another handball fairytale that took place last Saturday in the ÖHB Cup final in Schwaz. Second-division side Handball WESTWIEN were crowned Cup winners in 2024 against Handball Tirol, of all teams, who had the right to play at home. Especially after the championship title in the previous year and the subsequent forced relegation, it is balm for the soul of the "Glorious Seven". In "Handball - Das Magazin", we talk to WESTWIEN coach Roland Marouschek and captain Paul Pfeifer, who still can't quite believe it.

A look for the title, prelude to the play-offs
Paul Pfeifer is directly involved in the decisive goal for the 28:29 triumph as the provider of the assist. He describes the procedure and non-verbal communication with his team-mate Andreas Dräger: "It felt like ten minutes had passed before the referee blew his whistle again".
