That went in the eye
Apprentice injured in accident with nail gun
This work accident literally hit something in the eye: while working on the closed elementary school in Heiligenblut, a nail shot suddenly bounced back.
On the roof of the old elementary school, which has been closed for years, a 16-year-old apprentice from Lienz was in the process of attaching wooden boards to the exposed formwork on Monday. "He was working with a nail gun and fastening the boards with 70 mm nails," explained the police. "For reasons as yet unknown, a fired nail bounced back towards the apprentice's left eye."
The young man immediately complained of pain in his eye - but at least the nail didn't get stuck. "The journeyman present took him to a local doctor, who provided first aid," the police continued. "The 16-year-old was subsequently flown to Klagenfurt/WS Hospital by the 'C 7' rescue helicopter with injuries of indeterminate severity."
