Fall from hotel climbing tower: boy seriously injured

Fatal accident on Friday evening in a hotel in Kirchberg in Tirol (Kitzbühel district): A seven-year-old vacationing boy fell from a climbing tower in the playroom and injured himself so badly that he had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter.

The serious incident occurred shortly before 8.30 pm. "According to the investigations so far, the seven-year-old had been in the hotel playroom with other children. He was playing in the area of an approximately two-meter-high climbing tower and then fell to the ground for unknown reasons," reported the police.

To hospital by helicopter
An adult immediately administered first aid. The rescue chain was set in motion. After first aid on site, the vacation boy was flown to St. Johann District Hospital by emergency helicopter.
