Rapid supporters engulf visitors’ stand in flames

While the players were battling it out on the pitch in the Bundesliga match between Sturm Graz and Rapid, the Hütteldorf fans who had traveled to the match on Friday fought a duel with the home supporters in the stands.

As soon as the match kicked off, the Rapid fans' stand was engulfed in red smoke and the Merkur Arena was filled with smoke within seconds.

The fact that the fans of the two teams like to duel in the form of Bengal fires is nothing new. It was only in October that both Vienna and Graz were asked to pay up after the match on 16 September had to be interrupted for around twelve minutes due to the misuse of pyrotechnics.
