The majority of the family of former US President John F. Kennedy is backing Joe Biden in the election campaign. This public support is not a matter of course, as Robert F. Kennedy is also in the race as a non-party candidate.
As he spreads conspiracy myths and has contact with far-right politicians, some members of the Kennedy clan have already distanced themselves from him (see video above). As an independent, he also has no chance in the battle for the White House. Independent candidates are more likely to take votes away from those of the Republican and Democratic parties.
This could also be the case in the upcoming presidential election in November. Kennedy is the nephew of the former president and, according to experts, his candidacy could harm Biden rather than Republican Donald Trump.
In any case, he does not have the support of the majority of his family. "We want to make it clear that the best way forward for America is to re-elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for four more years," said his sister Kerry Kennedy on Thursday. She was at a Biden campaign event in Philadelphia.
