The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) warns against fraudulent phishing emails that are currently being sent in the name of the fund and promise an alleged refund. "Hands off", warned the ÖGK in a press release on Thursday.

In the messages sent by email, recipients are asked to open a link in order to request a refund online. "Hands off! These messages are an attempt at fraud," said ÖGK.

It urged its policyholders not to respond to them. "Under no circumstances should the link provided be opened or personal data disclosed," it said.
