Guardian angel on board
Tyrolean woman crashes her minibus into a raging river
Spectacular accident on Monday evening in the Zillertal valley in Tyrol: a 64-year-old local woman lost control of her minibus, left the road and plunged into the raging Ziller river. The driver obviously had plenty of guardian angels on board and got off relatively lightly.
The accident happened at around 7 p.m. in the municipality of Aschau. The 64-year-old local woman was driving her minibus out of the valley on the B169 Zillertal Straße when she suddenly lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.
The driver was able to free herself from the vehicle.

Vehicle did not drift away
The vehicle then veered off the edge of the road, hit a traffic sign, drove across the adjacent meadow and ultimately landed in the Ziller. Luckily, the minibus remained on its wheels in the raging river and did not drift away. "The driver was able to free herself from the vehicle," a police spokesperson told the "Krone" newspaper.

Rescue to hospital
The 64-year-old suffered minor injuries. She was first treated at the scene and then taken to Schwaz district hospital. The vehicle was rescued from the river by the volunteer fire department, among others. During the operation, traffic was stopped on both sides in the area of the accident.
