One dead in accident with concrete mixer

One person was killed in a traffic accident on Monday afternoon in Tragwein (Upper Austria). The young driver from Linz had overturned his concrete mixer. The worst thing is that he left behind his young wife and their baby, who was only a few months old.

The 35-year-old Romanian from Linz was driving his concrete mixer on the B124 coming from Tragwein towards Pregarten at around 2 p.m. on Monday. In a left-hand bend in the municipality of Tragwein, the driver lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons. The concrete mixer ended up on the verge, overturned and crashed into the ditch. The 35-year-old was trapped in the driver's cab. He had to be freed from the vehicle by the Tragwein and Pregarten fire departments.

The man was so seriously injured that he unfortunately died at the scene of the accident despite subsequent resuscitation measures. He is said to have left behind his young wife and his baby, who was only a few months old.

Serious accident in Perg too
The previous evening, there had also been a serious accident in Perg: A Romanian woman (33) from Münzbach crashed head-on into the car of an oncoming 20-year-old woman from Windhaag bei Perg on a long left-hand bend. The woman who caused the accident was trapped in the car, freed by the emergency services and taken to KUK in Linz.
