Rumor is circulating! Does Ferrari regret Sainz’s departure?

Despite persistent rumors, Formula 1 expert Thierry Boutsen has taken a clear stance on the Sainz case and shown understanding for Ferrari. The signing of Lewis Hamilton and the departure of Carlos Sainz were still the right decisions, he said. The Spaniard would simply benefit from the current situation.

Rumors are currently circulating among fans and experts that Ferrari is already regretting Sainz's departure. The racing team could not have passed up the opportunity to sign Hamilton, emphasizes expert Boutsen. Despite Sainz's recent successes, the former Belgian Formula 1 driver is certain that Ferrari made the right decision.

"Sainz is there to achieve as much as possible in the last few races with Ferrari because he has no choice," the expert explained to PlanetF1.com, also explaining the Spaniard's recent successes. Nevertheless, it makes more sense to back Charles Leclerc alongside Hamilton in the future.

Leclerc or Sainz?
"If you look at the two of them over the years they were together, Charles was faster than Carlos," says the Belgian, adding: "I would definitely keep Charles. He has more speed and more potential to win."

The Monegasque is currently hampered by the fact that, unlike his team-mate, he has to think long-term. All the pressure is therefore currently on Leclerc's shoulders. However, this would change in the coming season.
