Officers jumped away
After “wheelie”: hooligan breaks through police barriers
Spectacular scenes took place on Friday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: after a motorcyclist performed a so-called wheelie, a patrol took up the chase. The biker fled, even breaking through two police barriers in the process. In the end, the suspect was only found at his home address.
Someone probably wanted to impress other road users with his "driving skills". Shortly before 6.30 p.m. on the B175 Wildbichler Straße in the Kufstein/Eichelwang area, an initially unknown motorcyclist came into the police's sights after "performing" a so-called wheelie (front wheel in the air, note).
Motorcycle hooligan took flight
The officers immediately took up the chase. "When the man noticed the blue lights and siren, he folded in the license plate and tried to flee at excessive speed," said the investigators.
He drove towards the officers, forcing them to jump to the side.
Die Ermittler
The police set up two roadblocks. But the hooligan was unimpressed. "He drove towards the officers, forcing them to jump to the side," the investigators continued.
Using the license plate number of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old local man was finally identified as the suspect and confronted at his home. "He admitted that he had been driving the motorcycle."
Wrong license plate, no driver's license
But that's not all: "The motorcycle was not registered for traffic. The 18-year-old had mounted the license plate of his light motorcycle on the bike," the investigators explain. In addition, he did not have the necessary driving license for this vehicle. Charges follow.
