Flachgau man (71) chased burglars on his bike

A couple from Flachgau could not believe what they saw on Friday afternoon. Burglars ran out of their house. The 71-year-old homeowner quickly took up the chase on his bicycle.

The couple from Michaelbeuern were in the kitchen when they saw two women and a man running out of their house. As it turned out later, the three Romanians had broken into the couple's unlocked house and stolen jewelry as well as gold and silver coins from the bedroom on the ground floor.

The 71-year-old homeowner took off on his bike in pursuit of the fleeing perpetrators, but lost sight of them in the town center.

Shortly afterwards, the police were able to stop the two women (26 and 23 years old) on the Berndorfer Landesstraße. The 40-year-old man is still on the run.
