A spectacular accident on the Inntal highway in the Tyrolean lowlands on Saturday night: after a car hit a deer, a van following behind hit the car with full force. The three occupants suffered injuries. The deer died.

The accident happened shortly after 3 a.m. near Angath in the Tyrolean district of Kufstein. A 20-year-old local woman was driving her car on the A12 when there was a sudden collision with a deer. "The woman then stopped her vehicle. The 42-year-old driver of a van apparently noticed this too late and hit the car," said the police.

Car thrown off the highway
Due to the force of the impact, the local woman's car was spun around and thrown off the highway. The car finally came to a standstill on the adjacent embankment, completely demolished.

Car occupants taken to hospital
The 20-year-old driver and her two passengers, aged 23 and 25, suffered injuries in the accident. They were taken to Kufstein District Hospital by ambulance. The driver of the van escaped with a fright.
